What is The Order of the Stone Kobolds
The Order of the Stone Kobolds is more than a family, it's a community of people dedicated to improving our own lives and the lives of those around us. Anyone is welcome to join, as long as they share the goal of making the world a better place. To keep the space positive and inclusive, we avoid real-world political discussions and do not tolerate hate of any kind.
The "Kobold" aspect of the group draws from a fictional race of small, humanoid creatures that have appeared across many forms of media, most notably Dungeons & Dragons. They were originally created by Gary Gygax in 1974, and described in the 1977 Monster Manual. While traditionally depicted as Lawful Evil, more recent portrayals have begun to explore the idea of Lawful Good kobolds as well. These kobolds see themselves mainly as caretakers and protectors, which became the idea behind the Order of the Stone Kobolds.
What are Stone Kobolds?
Stone Kobolds are proud, disciplined beings who live by a strong sense of honor and integrity, drawing deep identity from their draconic lineage. Unlike their more typical kin, they often gravitate toward lawful good or neutral good ideals, valuing structure, responsibility, and the well being of their community.
Many devote themselves to long term pursuits, such as mastering a craft, safeguarding their people, or obtaining deeper knowledge and wisdom. Despite their shared values, they come from a wide range of backgrounds, bringing diverse skills and perspectives into their tightly knit societies.
Our Doctrine
Honor, Strength, Wisdom, Kindness, and Unity.
1. Honor
Honor is the quality that reflects integrity, respect, and a strong sense of doing what is right, even when you think no one else is watching. It can be shown in how a person treats others, keeps their promises, and stands by their values in difficult situations. It often requires courage, discipline, and a willingness to take responsibility for ones own actions.
2. Strength
Strength can come in many different forms. For some, it's the physical capacity to endure and push the body to its limits. For others, it can be mental, which can be seen in the ability to manage stress, overcome anxiety, and remain focused and steady under pressure, even when life feels overwhelming. Lastly, there is spiritual strength, which is a more unique form of inner resilience that reflects on faith and purpose.
3. Wisdom
Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge, experience, and sound judgment to make good decisions. A wise person can learn from both successes and failures, and use those lessons to guide future choices. Wisdom is often reflected in patience, careful thought, and the ability to consider multiple perspectives before acting.
4. Kindness
Kindness can be seen in the way we treat others with care, respect, and understanding. It often appears in small actions, such as showing empathy, offering help without being asked, or even comforting others in times of duress. What makes kindness so meaningful is that it can extend far beyond a single moment. A simple act of kindness can lift someone’s mood, ease stress, or even brighten their entire day.
It doesn’t need to be a grand or dramatic gesture, often the smallest ones are the most memorable. At its core, kindness can reflect an awareness that other people have their own struggles and hopes, and that a little compassion can make life better for everyone.
5. Unity
Unity is the type of bond that forms when people work together toward a common goal, setting aside their differences. It can grow through cooperation, respect, and genuine understanding. It creates a strong sense of belonging, where individuals feel seen and supported. In difficult times, unity can bring people closer, strengthening their ability to face challenges and move forward together.
